Write to your Glasgow City councillor
Glasgow City Council makes planning decisions and sets local housing policy. Tell your councillor you support more homes in your area and want the council to approve more planning applications.
Find your councillor →Contact your MSP
Scotland's planning system is set by Holyrood. Your MSP can push for planning reform, adequate funding for affordable housing, and policies that make it easier to build. Tell them housing is a priority for you.
Find your MSP →Find active planning applications in Glasgow
Glasgow City Council publishes all live planning applications online. Search by postcode to find proposals near you and submit a letter of support for ones you back.
Search planning applications →What to say in a support letter
Keep it short and personal. Say who you are and where you live, that you support the application, and briefly why: more homes are needed, the design is appropriate, or it will benefit the neighbourhood. Your own words carry more weight than a template.
Scottish Government consultations
The Scottish Government publishes all open consultations online. Housing, planning, and transport consultations are particularly relevant to YIMBY Glasgow's goals.
View open consultations →Glasgow's Local Development Plan
Glasgow City Council is regularly reviewing and updating its Local Development Plan, which sets out where and what can be built across the city for the next decade. This is one of the most important documents shaping Glasgow's housing future.
Learn about the LDP →Share the rent control calculator
Our interactive calculator shows exactly what rent controls would do to Glasgow's rental market. It is the clearest way to make the argument to someone who thinks rent controls are the answer.
See the calculator →Share the myth pages
Our myth-busting pages lay out the evidence on new builds, social housing, rent controls, and luxury flats with citations you can point to. Share them when you see these arguments being made online or in person.
See all myth pages →Talk to people
The most powerful thing you can do is make the case in your own conversations. If you hear someone oppose a new development, ask them why. If you hear the myths, share the evidence. Personal conversations change minds in ways that websites cannot.
